Culinary Yoga Retreat

Essential Self - A Yoga & Culinary Retreat.

All Level ✺ 17- 23 August 2023 ✺ Casa Erica, Málaga, Spain

Our signature Yoga & Culinary Retreats are perfect for those interested in plant- based cuisine eager to learn more or simply get inspired.

We invite you to step away from the busyness of daily life and immerse yourself in the ancient practices of yoga, pranayama, and meditation. Our aim is to guide you in rediscovering your fundamental being by stripping away the unnecessary layers that have accumulated over time.

During our retreat, we will encourage you to go within and explore the infinite realm of potentiality that exists within each of us. Through the practice of quieting the mind and simplifying our lives, we will connect with the power of the breath as the basis of our practice. We believe that the breath is the doorway to the mind and the key to unlocking our full potential.

Together, we will journey breath by breath, shedding the dense layers of old beliefs, conditionings, patterns, and fears. Our aim is to reveal the lightness of the self that exists beyond these limiting factors. We will guide you to connect with your essential self, the part of you that remains constant and unchanged through all of life’s experiences.

Zarah Boden Yoga Teacher

Zarah Boden

Always fascinated at the grace and intelligence of the human body and guided by Spirit, Zarah has explored movement through yoga and dance for over 20 years.  Coming from a background in ballet and jazz dance, she completed her first Yoga TTC in London,  going on to travel and further her learning in India with intensive studies of Astanga Vinyasa, Hatha, Pranayama and Indian Philosophy and various forms of bodywork and energy healing. She has also studied and practices Integrative Breathwork which incorporates breath awareness and conscious breathing for healing, growth, personal awakening and transformation.

Zarah greatest source of inspiration is the breath which you feel as she carefully weaves it into each of her classes.  The breath as a companion to unearth the depths of our being, a way to strip back the layers into our most authentic version and a path to cultivating balance of body and mind, to shine light on the infinite potential within.

A Yoga & Culinary Retreat //
Abundant heart

All Level ✺ 26 Oct- 1 Nov ✺ Casa Erica, Málaga, Spain

Our signature Yoga & Culinary Retreats are perfect for those interested in plant- based cuisine eager to learn more or simply get inspired.

Life can be hectic, keeping us on a hamster wheel of thoughts and worries. On this retreat, you’re invited to break free from this state of being by opening and listening to the wisdom of your heart – out of your head, into your heart.

Each day, we’ll flow through our yoga practice, carried by inspiring musical vibrations, and sing mantras that fill us with joy. We’ll use the breath to soothe our nerves and take deep rest with Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra, creating the stillness we need to see ourselves as we really are. And we’ll use the stories and myths behind the asanas as a playful way of understanding life’s universal themes – and looking at our own situations with a fresh perspective.

This shared journey will remind you that you are part of a bigger whole and connect you to the abundant joy that comes with this experience. You’ll learn to let sadness and pain flow through you, gently widening your compassion towards yourself and others. Above all, you will discover that freedom from worry doesn’t come from controlling your outer world, but from trusting yourself in this very moment.

Simone & Adi love to share their passion for cooking and great ingredients with you. That’s why they will show you their favorite kitchen hacks and surprise you with their Ayurvedic wisdom. Eat good and good will come to you. Are you ready to get inspired?

Whether you have been practicing yoga (and cooking) for many years or you are new to it; you are welcome!

Fleur van Hille

As a teacher, Fleur is creative and supportive. Her playlists offer a carefully crafted, steady beat that will carry you through flowing transitions and intentional holds. Simone & Adi – Karma Food

Our philosophy: Eat well, feel well

Simone loves to travel and dine, literally bringing people together with good food and natural wine. She enjoys having fun in the kitchen and strolling through local farmer’s markets. She loves to develop new recipes, to ferment, to throw huge dinner parties for family and friends but also likes to take some slow moments in between: a nice cup of Karma coffee in the morning (her very own blend, which she developed and roasted together with her friends from Jonas Reindl Coffee Roasters) or a long stroll through the woods with her dog Charlie.

Adi’s motto is: Everybody can cook. And he is the best proof with his own journey: from a self-taught cook to a trained Ayurvedic chef. Adi grew up in India (he will tell you lots of stories about it), where literally at all times of the day a curry or dal was simmering on the stove. He loves to share his family recipes with the world and passes on his random facts/ life advice.

Slow Down

Slow down

All Level ✺ 19- 25 Oct ✺ Casa Erica, Málaga, Spain

Amid the fast pace of our everyday lives, we hear a call for deep rest. Just as night follows day and summer fades into fall, our bodies are called into retreat to recover from the depth of life and to bring balance to the rush of experience.

On this retreat, you will ease into a pace of rest and relaxation with gentle flows, easeful days, and a general pace of life that matches exactly what the body needs to escape the cycle of day-to-day stressors. As your nervous system calms, you’ll feel a boost in your immune system and leave feeling a soft glow from within.

Our morning sessions will start with meditation and pranayama to focus our minds. We will take that focus into a gentle flow, followed by yin and restorative poses. In these sessions, there will be little or no vinyasas (moving from high plank to low plank to upward-facing dog), making this retreat very suitable for those with wrist, elbow, or shoulder injuries.

The afternoon sessions will include restorative yoga, yoga nidra (guided meditation while laying down), mantra singing, and conversations about the practical application of yoga philosophy for daily life circumstances.

Immerse the Self

Immerse the Self

All Level ✺ 16- 22 October 2023 ✺ La Viñuela Andalusia, Spain

We live each day surrounded by sound—busy city streets, the hum of technology, the vibration of the living, pulsing world around us—this vibration becomes our vibration until we answer the call to find a more intentional rhythm.

This retreat is your invitation to answer that call.

Immerse in Self, Sound, and Yoga will provide a single unified beat that will inspire balance, alignment, and peace. Sound healing and vibration reflect the sounds and vibrations of earth, air, fire, water, and ether, helping you to reset and reconnect in sacred relationship with Pachamama, the earth mother, and a higher cosmic consciousness. Through sound, you will form a deeper connection with the Self, melt away tension, improve creativity and focus, and re-establish a harmonious flow of energy.

Each morning will begin with a steady pulse of music so that our playful, dynamic flow will seem to have emerged from within. We’ll intertwine pranayama and meditation so mind and breath can join the chorus. In the afternoon, a slower vibration will help us settle into practices like yin and restorative yoga, yoga Nidra, and sound healing meditation. Through these practices, you will find softness, rest, and relaxation for your mind, body, and soul.

Nicole Windle

Nicole is a student and teacher of Yoga & is a Sound Healer based in the UK. She has been sharing her healing practices for 8 years.
Her practice and teachings have taken her all around the world with different teachers, trainings and ashrams and now her passion has led her to creating and hosting retreat experiences in the UK and Europe for the last 7 years. Nicole’s practice and teachings are inspired by her love of travelling the world and bringing the East to the West, because we all need a bit more woo-sah. She trained in Ashtanga/Vinyasa and has since trained in Yin yoga. Her teachings take inspiration from the Jivamukti method and power yoga, whilst bringing a more feminine lunar practice with Yin yoga.
She invites you to immerse yourself in the healing sounds and vibrations of her sound bath experiences and yoga asana practices.

Balanced Duality

Balanced Duality

All Levels ✺ 5-11 October 2023 ✺ Casa Erica, Málaga, Spain

Dive into a week of connection with CJ and Shelby as they bring about their own masculine and feminine energies as individuals and teachers, sharing their experiences through asana, meditation, breathwork, and sound healing for a holistic approach to a balanced life. We’ll employ a variety of duality dynamics, throughout our journey together to encapsulate well rounded days with moments of deep connection and appreciation for life.

Each morning will include either a guided meditation or a silent hike to set positive intentions for our day. The early asana will bring about fiery masculine energy as we move through strong, powerful but playful vinyasa style flows that will be heavily integrated with breathwork, and self-inquiry to bring that confident solar energy into the day.

Each evening we will slow things down as we tap into our softer side, harnessing our feminine energies utilizing mellow and yin style practices to bring restoration to our nervous systems. There will be moments of dedicated quiet time, breath and reflection allowing you to fully surrender to the present moment.

Through your own cultivated experience and intuition, you will harness your own inner strength and awareness, bringing about confidence in all that you do, enabling you to trust your higher-self in all aspects of your life. As we walk through the week together we will work to let go of all that does not serve our best self and seek a deeper connection within to align mind, body, and spirit.

Carleton James Yeagley

CJ gravitates towards connection. Connection with movement, to people, to his emotions of mind, body & spirit. He found yoga after playing sports growing up and throughout college. Wanting to learn more about the asana side of the practice, CJ found Patrick Beach, Carling Harps, & Awakening Yoga Academy. He’s been learning and training with them for the past seven years and has been a full-time yoga teacher for the past nine years. CJ has a Masters in Exercise Science and has taught 1000+ hours of public classes, not including workshops, retreats, and private sessions. He has filmed 100+ classes on Patrick & Carling’s yoga platform, Commune Online, consisting of strong vinyasa and ease-filled practices. CJ’s classes are a wonderful balance of structure & freedom. Meeting you in your moment of effort & ease. He hopes to leave you with good vibes and positive energy.

Shelby Heintzelman

Shelby strives to help people gain awareness in their bodies, encouraging attention to the breath to move them into a mind-body connection. Her flows are a combination of strength and balance with intentional movement woven into a mindfully creative sequence. Shelby received her 200hr vinyasa training with Yoga Works in Santa Monica, CA. She since has continued to train under Patrick Beach and Carling Harps, where she went on to complete her 300hr advanced training with Awakening Yoga Academy. She also has filmed 100+ classes on Patrick & Carling’s yoga platform, Commune Online, consisting of strong vinyasa and ease-filled practices.

Her sincere goal is for people to learn how to show up for themselves, practice compassion, self love, and use their yoga practice as a time for them to turn inward and release the stresses of life. Shelby’s hope is that people leave her classes feeling inspired, challenged, fresh, and with a sense of clarity that translates into their everyday lives.

Twice as many chefs means twice as much creative energy flowing in the kitchen! Each meal will be carefully crafted and expertly executed with a symphony of flavours. Additionally each chef will also offer one workshop/ presentation.

This retreat is perfect for everyone who loves to get spoiled and inspired! You’ll have the chance to explore incredible plant-based meals from all corners of the earth while learning some tricks of our excellent retreat chefs.

Soulful meals & a heartfelt yoga practice.
A retreat to give yourself
a time of calm, connection, care and love.

About the Yoga

When was the last time you chose you? This retreat is designed as a reset and is dedicated to give space to YOU so you come back home to yourself when life pulls you away, so you can choose yourself, emerging as your true self, full of self-love and acceptance.

During the full moon we will have a chance to observe and connect to the shifting energies. Lunar energy by nature is cooling, restorative, nourishing, nurturing and intuitive and invite us to slow down, go within and connect to the divine feminine energy within us. We’ll dive into the magic that resides within in our body, exploring inwards towards feeling, awareness, self-healing and peace. We combine this with an outward experience of learning and sharing with other beings, in a beautiful place, far away from our day to day.

Move your body daily with deep embodiment vinyasa yoga practices, guided breathing practices and meditation to connect to your inner world, and yin or restorative yoga to observe the shifts in energy within and music to match the rhythm of life that you seek. You will set sacred intentions, practice affirmations and gratitude, let yourself to feel your feelings and allow what is.

All this deep work will balance with free time for contemplation, entertainment for the senses with nourishing food, walks in nature, sunbathing at beach or at the pool.

about the place

Casa Erica is where it all begun and where we host retreats since 2014. It is a home to us, which we love to share. Peacefully located on the coast of Andalusia, between Málaga and Nerja. The beach in walking distance.

What we love most about it are the pastel sunsets, the wild beaches and the laid back Andalusian mentality. Also our dog Alpha and cat Hanuman live here. More

Dolce Far Niente

Dolce Far Niente - The Sweetness of Doing Nothing

All Level ✺ 20-26 August ✺ In Sabina, Rieti, Italy

One of Yoga’s greatest gifts (of which there are many) is that it opens us to the simple sweet nothings that are really quite something. To see magic even in the most mundane. To appreciate more and more of life. To feel satisfaction simply because we exist.

When we start to slow down, there comes a point where we can land back into the somewhat familiar feeling of stillness and begin to remember what it is to be at ease within ourselves, and as such at ease within the world around us.

This retreat is an opportunity to do just that; to slow down and invite deep, replenishing rest into the cells of your body. To know nourishment as something that gives to you without taking anything else away. To find the deliciousness of space, and experience stillness as so much more than a physical act, and come to know it as a joyful feeling that arises under the right conditions.

Mornings will comprise of a complete practice (asana, pranayama & meditation) that weave Yogic philosophy/ understanding into the fabric of your experience. The afternoons will alternate between restorative practices that help us to balance & regulate the nervous system, inviting deep rest for body, mind & soul (Guided Relaxation, Yoga Nidra, Meditation etc) and, or workshops that provide an opportunity to further unpack some of Yoga’s essential teachings as it pertains to the power of presence, rest, and emotional resilience.

Journalling and self enquiry will play a large role in our experience together, as a means to spark greater clarity, growth and transformation.

Expect deep practices intertwined with philosophy, intelligent use of the breath, self study, contemplation & meditation.

about the place

It doesn’t seem possible that InSabina is less than an hour’s drive from the crowded streets of Rome. With lush, abundant grounds of its own, along with a natural spring and a magnificent wooden yoga platform which overlooks the valley below, this is a truly magical place that’s ideal for spiritual practice, slowing down, and plunging oneself into nature. More
