Empower

Empower

Intermediate ✺ 4- 10 September 2025 ✺ Casa Erica, Málaga, Spain

What is strength? And is it true to say its opposite is softness and opening?

Gradually we come to realise that true strength is what sustains us from within. It is an everlasting well of nourishment through the magical, the transitional, the turbulent, and the transformational experiences of this human life. Throughout our week together, we will explore the meaning of strength, the soft well of inner knowing that powers it, and the tools yoga offers us to unlock the dormant power within.

Each morning will start with chanting, meditation, and pranayama, followed by a deep and purposeful asana practice interspersed with supportive assists, personal insights, spoken word, and uplifting music. Jivamukti yoga not only nurtures physical strength and flexibility but also encourages a mindful and compassionate approach to life, fostering a sense of interconnectedness and harmony with the world. Each practice is designed to empower a greater connection to your physical strength and inner resiliency, and you can expect deeper insights as well as a cohesive and supported flow through the week.

Our afternoons will be a harmonious fusion of physical and spiritual practices designed to explore specific aspects of strength and power in more detail. Chanting and yoga philosophy will serve to deepen and contextualize these themes. This retreat is an invitation to explore the boundless power you hold within yourself—a journey that transcends the physical, leading to a profound awakening of your inner strength and resilience.

A Culinary & Yoga Retreat

A Culinary & Yoga Retreat //
The In between

All Level ✺ 26 June- 2 July 2025 ✺ Casa Erica, Málaga, Spain

We spend so much time being busy and doing things that we sometimes forget how to take a break, slow down, and simply be. The Japanese concept of Ma describes a pause in time, an interval or emptiness in space. Ma is the time and space life needs to breathe, to feel and connect. If we have no time, if our space is restricted, we cannot grow. This universal principle applies to every aspect of life. Together, we will create a space in between – a space to pause, to move, to breathe, to feel and to listen within.

As we move into summer, this retreat allows us to pause and harness the magic of transition for ourselves.
You’re invited to come as you are and reconnect to your true being. The breath connecting mind and body, a powerful bridge to unlock the wisdom our body holds for us.

We prepared a finely curated program for you, combining Jivamukti yoga, breathwork and meditation, aiming to strengthen and soften.
Inspired by the chakra system, our practices will allow us to open, clear and energise. So you can come back to you.

We’ll start the mornings with Jivamukti Yoga. Classes will be fuelled by passionately curated playlists, chanting, dharma and of course vigorous asana practice. Our afternoon practice will focus on the breath. We will explore pranayama and breathwork techniques, allowing us to experience and understand our bodies in a different way.

Katharina Seeger

Katharina is an advanced certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher. She is curious, creative and always interested in building connection.
In her classes, you can expect dynamic asana, carefully curated playlists, along with mantra, breathing exercises, and hands-on assists. Throughout, there is a focus on connecting to philosophy, exploring alignment, and diving into meditation techniques. Her classes blend challenging asana practice with spirituality, helping people reconnect with their essence. If you want to take a class with Katharina, you can practice with her in Cologne and online.

Katharina discovered Jivamukti Yoga in 2011, has been studying the method ever since and teaching for more than ten years. A few years ago she discovered breathwork and decided to train with Christine Schmid and Connie Biesalski, so she could make the power of breathing accessible for others.

Unity

Unity

Alchemy

Alchemy - fully booked

Intermediate ✺ 3- 9 August 2025 ✺ Olea, Rieti, Italy

The term “alchemy” is often used metaphorically to describe processes of transformation and creation, a process that results in a profound shift from a fragmented state towards a newly integrated state of being. Just as ancient alchemists sought to transmute base metals into gold, this metaphorical alchemy represents the pursuit of inner refinement and expansion.

During this week, beyond the hustle culture of daily life, you’ll be invited to take the introspective space required for the delicate process of inner transformation. Yogic practices provide us with very tools needed for turning inwards.

The asana practice will be Jivamukti, a dynamic vinyasa designed to bring a deep sense of connection and awareness to our body and mind. Each morning will start with chanting, meditation & pranayama, followed by a deep & purposeful asana practice. The afternoons will be dedicated to going deeper into our understanding and exploration of meditation, pranayama and asana.

Practice & Presence

Practice & Presence

Intermediate ✺ 18- 24 September 2025 ✺ Casa Erica, Spain

Practice is what holds us together.

In a world where talk is often valued more than action. Where new theories and ideas appear every minute, it is almost a rebellious act to focus on one’s practice.

A regular practice makes progress visible and inevitable. This applies to a yoga practice, but also to anything we do.

Are you tired of the “all talk no action” approach? I feel you. But we cannot make life about practice only. Practice is by definition a prerequisite in order to perform an action with perfection. What is the action? And will we ever reach that perfection? Perfection is not being flawless. It is doing something with complete presence. The action is to become present and aware. To be able to meet our own life with grace and a relaxed mindset. Because we did show up to the work before.

This retreat is not about perfecting your practice. Of course glimpses of perfection can appear. This retreat will be about the journey of yourself during your practice and what we can take out of it. Because what is the use of practice, if we don’t apply it to our lives? To become better humans.

The asana practice and meditation is our foundational ground. It’s where we meet and where we explore. The time outside of classes can be dedicated to yourself, to connect with others or maybe create a deeper connection to what you are practicing for.

I will share teachings of my teachers and those who have inspired me on my path. We will discuss some of the most important yogic texts in a down-to-earth way.

We will practice a good amount, but there will be awareness for how you feel within that process. See the practice part for more information about that.

I will offer you a retreat where you can be present for yourself. Where you don’t have to justify, explain or argue about your needs. If you feel challenged, I invite you to explore within your boundaries. Is it an old pattern appearing? Maybe inviting you to look behind this imaginary wall? Or is it time to step back and go within. We only know through practice what works for us.

Dana Sertel

Dana is an Advanced Certified (800+h) Jivamukti Yoga Teacher based in Berlin. She is a mentor to Jivamukti Yoga Apprentices and mentoring new teachers.

Within the Jivamukti Yoga method she offers to guide new teachers through the 500+h JTAP Program and teaches in English and German worldwide classes online and offline.

Finding the teaching in anything. Authentic and real. Informed by her practice and devoted to the experience. Dana started practicing Yoga in 2006 after a long time of intense sports. She immediately noticed there was more to Yoga than just physical benefits. Diving deep into the liberating effects of practice is what brings her back to the mat every day. There are highs and there are lows – none of them should be missed or avoided.

The Power of Presence

The Power of Presence

Intermediate ✺ 27 April- 3 May 2025 ✺ Olea, Rieti, Italy

Alchemy

Alchemy

Intermediate ✺ 21 - 27 March 2025 ✺
Marrakech, Morocco

Rowena Johnson Rowena is an Advanced Certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher, and a 200hr & 300hr teacher trainer, who has been practicing yoga since 2008. With a personal practice of Ashtanga and Jivamukti, Rowena’s classes are strong, purposeful and interspersed with personal insights, spoken word and uplifting music. The alchemy created is inspiring and potent, far beyond the mat. Whilst based in Berlin, Rowena teaches internationally on yoga teacher trainings, workshops and retreats. If you want to take a class with Rowena you can find her at Three Boons Yoga in Berlin (also online classes) or try the yoga video we’ve  recorded with her last year. During this retreat, you’ll have the unique opportunity to stay at two enchanting resorts, each offering a different perspective of this magical country. For the first three nights, you’ll reside at the renowned Riad BE Marrakech, nestled in the heart of Marrakech’s medieval Medina, just steps away from the city’s vibrant pulse. For the last three nights, you’ll transition to the Hideaway Camp BE Agafay, located in the serene Agafay stone desert, just 45 minutes from Marrakech. The camp offers ten spacious 50m² yurt tents, each equipped with comfortable bedding, an en-suite bathroom and shower, a wardrobe with a small kitchenette, air conditioning for heating or cooling, and a private outdoor terrace with breathtaking views. The camp also includes a restaurant and bar area where you can enjoy meals under the stars, a swimming pool, and a jacuzzi with panoramic views of the desert landscape. The Magic Dark

The Magic Dark

Intermediate ✺ 25 February -2 March 2025 ✺ La Viñuela, Spain

The winter season draws us in to its cloak of darkness. Many of us may find ourselves wishing these months away, waiting for the light of spring and summer to return.

But winter has such richness within her darkness. In the magic dark of winter we not only have the opportunity to rest in natures natural ebb to the flow, we also have the time to tend to the stoke the fire of creative flow within us.

Now is the time for inspiration to be nourished, as we light candles, read poetry, listen to music and connect to the source within.

This special retreat will be dedicated to the Magic Dark of Winter. Each morning will start with Mediation, Chanting and Kriya practices. Followed by Asana and Pranayama. In the afternoons, we will meditate again, read poetry and discuss yogic philosophy and its modern application to our daily lives.

Elemental Awakening

Elemental Awakening

Intermediate ✺ 22nd - 28th August 2024 ✺ Casa Erica, Málaga, Spain

Exploring Jivamukti Yoga through Nature’s Forces

Embark on a transformative journey through the ancient wisdom of yoga and the elemental forces of nature. Nestled in the serene embrace of natural landscapes, this retreat offers a unique opportunity to explore the interconnectedness of your body, mind, spirit and the five elemental energies: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space (Ether).

Each day of the retreat is dedicated to one of these elements, guiding you through a holistic experience of balance and self-discovery. Mornings begin with meditation and pranayama following a Jivamukti Yoga class, setting the tone for the day’s exploration.

Afternoon classes offer asana workshops or poetry yin and restorative classes, inviting you to wind down as you connect with the essence of each element.

A Chakra Tuning class is included throughout the retreat to harmonise your energy centers. Carefully curated music enhances the atmosphere, fostering deep connection, introspection and fun!

Each day you’ll delve deeper into the fluidity of water, the transformative power of fire, the expansiveness of air and the transcendent beauty of space. Guided practices, group activities and moments of quiet reflection will support your journey towards a deeper understanding of yourself and your interconnectedness with the natural world.

Nadja Steinbach

Advanced Certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher

Nadja’s wanderlust is innate, nurtured by years of cultural immersion. With a background in organic farming and a commitment to combating climate change, her journey into Jivamukti Yoga seamlessly extended her path.

She believes that the practice of yoga is a place of individual growth and acceptance by bringing together different people with a common ground. Being together in this space creates an overwhelming sense of unity that we so often miss in our daily lives. Holding space for this and whatever unfolds is the magic of yoga.

Nadja has been taught to teach the kind of class she wants to attend. In her classes you will experience elements of pranayama and asana, music and meditation, as well as hands-on assists. Her passion is to infuse spiritual teachings into physical practice, making ancient wisdom accessible and relevant. Music sets the tone, weaving themes into playlists, while humor adds a touch of levity.

Nadja teaches regular classes in Munich at Yogaloft Munich and Jivamukti Yoga Munich.

about the place

Casa Erica is where it all begun and where we host retreats since 2014. It is a home to us, which we love to share. Peacefully located on the coast of Andalusia, between Málaga and Nerja. The beach in walking distance.

What we love most about it are the pastel sunsets, the wild beaches and the laid back Andalusian mentality. Also our dog Alpha and cat Hanuman live here. More
