What is strength? And is it true to say its opposite is softness and opening?
Gradually we come to realise that true strength is what sustains us from within. It is an everlasting well of nourishment through the magical, the transitional, the turbulent, and the transformational experiences of this human life. Throughout our week together, we will explore the meaning of strength, the soft well of inner knowing that powers it, and the tools yoga offers us to unlock the dormant power within.
Each morning will start with chanting, meditation, and pranayama, followed by a deep and purposeful asana practice interspersed with supportive assists, personal insights, spoken word, and uplifting music. Jivamukti yoga not only nurtures physical strength and flexibility but also encourages a mindful and compassionate approach to life, fostering a sense of interconnectedness and harmony with the world. Each practice is designed to empower a greater connection to your physical strength and inner resiliency, and you can expect deeper insights as well as a cohesive and supported flow through the week.
Our afternoons will be a harmonious fusion of physical and spiritual practices designed to explore specific aspects of strength and power in more detail. Chanting and yoga philosophy will serve to deepen and contextualize these themes. This retreat is an invitation to explore the boundless power you hold within yourself—a journey that transcends the physical, leading to a profound awakening of your inner strength and resilience.
