Dolce Far Niente - The Sweetness of Doing Nothing

All Level ✺ 20-26 August ✺ In Sabina, Rieti, Italy

One of Yoga’s greatest gifts (of which there are many) is that it opens us to the simple sweet nothings that are really quite something. To see magic even in the most mundane. To appreciate more and more of life. To feel satisfaction simply because we exist.

When we start to slow down, there comes a point where we can land back into the somewhat familiar feeling of stillness and begin to remember what it is to be at ease within ourselves, and as such at ease within the world around us.

This retreat is an opportunity to do just that; to slow down and invite deep, replenishing rest into the cells of your body. To know nourishment as something that gives to you without taking anything else away. To find the deliciousness of space, and experience stillness as so much more than a physical act, and come to know it as a joyful feeling that arises under the right conditions.

Mornings will comprise of a complete practice (asana, pranayama & meditation) that weave Yogic philosophy/ understanding into the fabric of your experience. The afternoons will alternate between restorative practices that help us to balance & regulate the nervous system, inviting deep rest for body, mind & soul (Guided Relaxation, Yoga Nidra, Meditation etc) and, or workshops that provide an opportunity to further unpack some of Yoga’s essential teachings as it pertains to the power of presence, rest, and emotional resilience.

Journalling and self enquiry will play a large role in our experience together, as a means to spark greater clarity, growth and transformation.

about the place

It doesn’t seem possible that In Sabina is less than an hour’s drive from the crowded streets of Rome. With lush, abundant grounds of its own, along with a natural spring and a magnificent wooden yoga platform which overlooks the valley below, this is a truly magical place that’s ideal for spiritual practice, slowing down, and plunging oneself into nature. More
