Morning classes will be more gentle and ease-filled in nature, building up gradually. Preparing ourselves for the day ahead.

Evening classes will be more flow and effort based with a calming wind-down and to end the day.

Slow down your pace. Today is all about building slow, controlled and connected balance in the present moment

Day 2: Creating Your Rhythm
Today we find fluidity and connection to your movements. Let yourself turn inward to let your curiosity guide you through the journey

Day 3: Conscious and Connected
Today is cultivated around opening your heart and connecting to your breath. Create space and awareness as we explore a variety of backbends

Day 4: The Power of You
Today is the reminder you are strong and capable. Let these slower paced practices build strength, control, and balance of the present moment.

Day 5: Releasing Your Self
Let yourself release in today’s calming practices. Allow the gentle movements to guide you in a deeper sense of calm and meditation. 

CJ’s classes are a wonderful balance of structure & freedom. Meeting you in your moment of effort & ease. He hopes to leave you with good vibes and positive energy 

Carleton James 

CJ gravitates towards connection. Connection with movement, to people, to his emotions of mind, body & spirit. He found yoga after playing sports growing up and throughout college. Wanting to learn more about the asana side of the practice, CJ found Patrick Beach, Carling Harps, & Awakening Yoga Academy. He’s been learning and training with them for the past seven years and has been a full-time yoga teacher for the past nine years. CJ has a Masters in Exercise Science and has taught 1000+ hours of public classes, not including workshops, retreats, and private sessions. He also has filmed 100+ classes on Patrick & Carling’s yoga platform, Commune Online, consisting of strong vinyasa and ease-filled practices.

all yoga equipment is available at our retreat location, as well as towels & bed linen. bring sturdy shoes or sneakers with a good grip sole for the hike & a beach/pool towel. we’ll let you know again what’s good to bring, a few days before your retreat.

check- in on thursday from 15:00, lunch snacks waiting for you // check- out on wednesday until 11:00 after breakfast

arrival & departure: group pick ups & drop offs will be organized for thursday from Málaga airport & Málaga city center. Vice versa for departure on wednesday. costs: 20€/person/way

about the place

Surrounded by mountains and sea, Casa Erica is very peacefully located on the coast of Andalusia, between Málaga and Nerja. It’s only a 600m walk to the beach.  While being warmed by the sun you will enjoy the view over the countryside and the ocean. Between the yoga classes you can chill at the pool, enjoy a relaxing massage or discover the surroundings. 

There is a lot to discover around Casa Erica. Once a week you can join a hike through cliffs, that ends at a hidden beach. At the weekly market you can buy souvenirs and culinary delights. 

The Costa del Sol has a micro climate because it is sheltered from the northern winds by the Sierra Nevada. The sub-tropical vegetation brings us mediterranean and tropical fruits such as avocados, guavas, cherimoyas, figs or passion fruit, depending on the time of the year – enriching our retreat menu. Discover the location.
