Winter Escape
February, March & April 2022, Málaga Spain
The cold months of the year in northern and middle Europe can make us feel unmotivated or powerless. The lack of sunlight and therefore vitamin D deficiency can cause fatigue and tiredness and make us feel emotionally drained.
For many of us the connection to others in the last two years has suffered and made us feel isolated or lost.
In this years Winter Escape you are invited to break free from this state and join us in sunny Andalusia (over 320 days of sun per year). Whether you want to take advantage of the remoteness of a retreat location to unwind & relax or swap your home office environment for a workspace with sea views and take a stroll on the beach during your lunch break – its up to you!
This experience will fuel your batteries, spark joy and make you feel connected again. Come back with new impluses, a clear mind & an open heart.

Watch the sunrise with a cup of tea, practice yoga outside or in our studio (self practice, use our equipment), prepare your own meals with fresh local ingredients in your apartment kitchen, take a walk in nature, read a book, sunbathe or have a chat with other guests. There are plenty of magical villages close by for a day trip such as Frigiliana, Nerja, Maro or Malaga City.
Once a week you can visit the local farmers market in Torre del Mar. We can organize a guided hike or a blissful massage for you. Casa Erica with its apartments scattered around the common areas invites for community activities.

Surrounded by the mountain and the sea you can stay productive and combine vacations and working remotely. We offer desks, indoor as well as outdoor. Some of the apartments also have wifi. Please let us know at your booking if you need a desk.

If you are patient you can use the buses. To the supermarket you need to walk about 20min to the bus stop and take the bus into town (10min drive). Fruit & veggies can be delivered to Casa Erica. If you like to rent a car (not expensive in winter), we recommend to book over check24.de with Vollkasko (to avoid scamming). Let us know if you want to be connected with each other to share a rental car.
It might be nice to have a car as in winter there is no beach bar just down the road and there are cute towns to visit around. On the other hand a taxi to Torre Del Mar is only 10€. We will also ask, if someone wants to join when we drive into town.
The nearest Airport is Málaga.
You need the App Spain Health Travel in order to enter the country. It will create an QR code that you will need to show.
With our Casa Erica restrictions you will be able to enter the country, but please also check yourself (e.g. for Germans at Auswärtiges Amt) as these things can change.
Taxi booked over us is about 45€ one way
You can come by bus, it takes about 1 -1,5 hours. We can pick you up from the bus stop Valle Niza (only between 11am and 8pm)
Currently in Spain you need to wear masks, but not on the beach or doing sports. (Also people seem to handle it more relaxed currenlty).
Casa Erica is strictly 2G+ regardless how Spain handles the situation.
For your booking we need a vaccination certificate not older than 9 month or recovery certificate not older than 90 days.
And before you arrive a negative antigen (or PCR) test result no older than 24 hours send to us by mail.
You need to bring 7 self-tests per person per 2 weeks stay (if they are expensive in your country, let us know and we can work it out).
You don’t need to wear masks in Casa Erica.
We will ask for testing during your stay. This way we keep the place save for you and for others.
(If you have a positive test you can stay isolated here until your test is negative and we can bring you food from the supermarket.)

Apartments with kitchen & bathroom. Filtered water is available. As well as yoga equipment, bed linen, towels and use of laundry. Please bring a towel for sunbathing.

Comfortable studio apartment with mountain and pool views.. Small private bathroom. Open kitchen, eating area. Close to common outside areas where you can also have your meals in the sun. Heating via air-conditioning.

Evendale Apartment
Spacious bright apartment north and south orientated. Bedroom with big double bed. Living room with open kitchen, couch, desk and good wifi. You can work from here. Private bathroom.
Heating via air-conditioning in the living room and electric heater in the bedroom.

Olivine Apartment
Spacious apartment with 2 bedrooms. One has separate twin beds, the other one one french size bed for one person. The window of the single room faces a quiet hallway.
Spacious living, eating and kitchen area with dish washer for the 3 to share, as well as a bathroom and outside dining and sunbathing area in front of the apartment.
Heating via air-conditioning in the living room and electric heaters in the bedrooms.

Lapis Lazuli Studio Apartments
Comfortable studio apartment. Small private bathroom. Open kitchen, eating area. Close to common outside areas where you can also have your meals in the sun. Comfortable 160 x 200 bed. Door and windows of the studio are facing a bright corridor. Heating via air-conditioning.

about the place
Surrounded by mountains and sea, Casa Erica is very peacefully located on the coast of Andalusia, between Málaga and Nerja. It’s only a 600m walk to the beach. There are no disturbing neighbors or street noise. While being warmed by the sun you will enjoy the view over the countryside and the ocean.
The Costa del Sol has a micro climate because it is sheltered from the northern winds by the Sierra Nevada. The sub-tropical vegetation brings us mediterranean and tropical fruits such as avocados, guavas, cherimoyas, figs or passion fruit, depending on the time of the year.
